The Jesse Tree for Families: Day 25

THE SON OF GOD

Luke 2:1-20, John 1:1-18

We can see God’s plan throughout all of the Bible, God’s Word. We can see His plan to rescue His people from sin, His plan to bring a Savior to His people from the promise of Abraham, and His plan to bring a Savior who is also a King from the family of David. Behold, Jesus, our Emmanuel, God with us, has come. The one through whom the world was made was born for our salvation.

This is what every person, poem, and prophecy pointed to all along:

Jesus is the Lord over all creation.
Jesus is the future son of Eve that would rescue the world from sin.

Jesus is the boat that saves us from the flood.
Jesus is the blessing promised to Abraham.
Jesus is the sacrificial lamb that Isaac searched for on the mountain.
Jesus is the ladder from Jacob’s vision, connecting and reconciling us with our heavenly father.
Jesus is our protector and provider.
Jesus is I AM who spoke to Moses, who delivers us from slavery of sin.
Jesus is the passover lamb, whose blood takes away the sins of the world.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the law given to Moses.
Jesus is the trumpet that brings down the walls of sin and hostility in our hearts.
Jesus is the hero, like Gideon, whose strength was made visible by his weakness.
Jesus is the king whose reign would have no end.
Jesus is the one true King.
Jesus is the humble shepherd who protects his people.
Jesus is God’s response in a world of unresponsive gods.
Jesus is the burning coal who cleanses the unclean of sin and shame.
 Jesus is the temple.
Jesus is the peace and safety longed for by Nehemiah.
Jesus is the one for whom John the Baptist prepared a way.
 Jesus is Lord.
Jesus is the reason for the joy and hope of Mary, and all who follow him.
 Jesus is the trustworthy promise-keeper.
Jesus is our hope and our salvation.
Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Prince of Peace, and Eternal Father.

Family Thoughts

At Christmas we celebrate Jesus, God’s promised and perfect plan that has come. Jesus is the Son of God. He is the Savior. He is the King over all! Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, and Eternal Father.

The best gift of all is the gift from our God in the form of a precious little baby. A baby, who was born as our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Let us never forget the great sacrifice that our God made to send His One and only Son to save us from sin.

Merry Christmas! Oh come let us adore the King of Kings!
