A family of interdependent churches.

Meet Kyung Kim

Greetings, Park Community Church family!

My name is Kyung Kim. My wife Hera and I have been attending South Loop for four years and are so blessed to be a part of Park. I currently serve as an usher and on the setup and men's ministries and Hera serves in the children's ministry.

We relocated to Chicago from San Francisco right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn't the best planning, but God was gracious.

When I was eight years old, my family immigrated to Chicago from Korea, and it wasn't until I was older that God got my attention in a rather dramatic way right before college.

During college, I met my wife at a Bible study. Once we graduated, our careers took us to San Francisco where I worked in software product management and consulting and Hera as an attorney. That was roughly 30 years ago!

While raising our kids Evan and Halie, I changed careers, working on the pastoral staff at our church for 15 years. After being in such a tight community for the time that we were in San Francisco, it was daunting to think about starting over with a new church family.  But again, the Lord was gracious!

He guided us to Park South Loop where we love it here and hope to serve here as long as God allows. Hera and I are excited about Park's vision to share Jesus with Chicago and the rest of the world!  If any of you want to hear the long versions of any part of this, we can grab coffee!
