Uptown

Park Community Church Uptown is a newly-created church plant whose desire is to launch a gospel-centered church where people can connect with Jesus. At Park Uptown, we believe that the church is not a building but it’s the people who work together to serve one another and grow in faith.

Our pre-launch gatherings begin on Sunday, January 7 at 10:30 AM at 4750 N Sheridan. We would love to see you there!

As a lead team member, you're all in at Park Uptown.

Lead team members spend time with the pastoral team, developing a relationship that better understands the character, calling, competency, and theological alignment of the team member.

Lead team members officially become members of Park Community Church Uptown and fulfill a ministry role such as an elder, deacon, co-pastor, resident-in-training, or worship lead, kids lead, singles lead, admin lead, small groups lead, and missional lead.

As a core team member, you're all in at Park Uptown.

Core team members are consistently attending, serving, and giving to Uptown.

Core team members are officially members of Park Community Church Uptown and are theologically aligned with the church.

As a seed team member, you're willing to commit at least a year toward Park Uptown.

Seed team members help plant the church in Uptown while attending another church within Park. These members help build momentum as the crowd draws a crowd.

For one year, seed team members commit to serving once a month while attending two to four Sundays a month.

As a partner team member, you are available periodically to help serve with Park Uptown by leading worship, teaching, serving on a Sunday, or participating in outreach. You consider giving financially above and beyond your regular local church giving to help us become self-sustaining.

Sam Smith is an Upstate, New York native who came to Chicago in 2005 to study theology at Moody Bible Institute.

After moving to plant and pastor a church in Seattle, Washington, he moved back to Chicago with his family in 2022 to plant a church in Uptown with Park Community Church.

Sam specifically feels called to equip and send the church to neglected areas in the city where people have historically been overlooked.
